Prior to colonization, the art of tattooing has been part of the indigenous tribes throughout the Philippines. When the Spanish first arrived on Visayan soil in 1521, they labeled the people PINTADOS or "The Painted Ones" as they were covered in tattoos from head to toe. The tattoos served as an aura of intimidation and used as a psychological strategy during wars and raids.

The PINTADOS fatigue jacket takes inspiration from traditional Visayan tattoo patterns and markings. Some say the tattoos were considered windows into our spirituality, culture, and way of life.

Tone on tone plastisol print of Visayan inspired tattoo on left and right arms, back, and front on a UNISEXY vintage 100% cotton fatigue jacket.
